1. Lasers can seal a retinal tear
2. Recovery and recovery time depends on the severity and location of the tear, other complications related to the tear, the health of the eye as well as overall general health.
3. You should discuss all of your risk factors with your Retina Specialist.

The word recover is a bit vague. You leave the doctors office a short while after the laser procedure, and go home or complete your errands as planned. The treated eye will be blurry for at least a number of hours, but should return to baseline by the following morning. You may have some aim and soreness or light sensitivity for some time. The doctor will guide you through that

Most people have only minimal discomfort after the laser. Some doctors recommend limiting strenuous activity for about 1 week afterward, and some don't. It depends on the size of the tear and if there is a partial retinal detachment associated with the tear. Flashes and floaters
typically take several weeks to resolve.
