CT DYE is usually eliminated from your body within 24 to 48 hours through your kidneys. However, this can vary based on factors like:

Kidney function – If your kidneys are healthy, you’ll clear the dye faster. If you have kidney issues, it may take longer.
Hydration – Drinking plenty of water helps flush the dye out faster.
Age & overall health – Younger and healthier individuals usually eliminate it more quickly.
The dye used in a CT scan, typically injected intravenously, is usually completely eliminated from your system within 24 hours through your urine, meaning you should be able to flush it out within a day by drinking plenty of fluids after your scan.
