Recovery after appendix, surgery can vary dependent upon the approach. If this is done through a camera, call Piper rosy, most people feel normal within a couple of days. It is strongly encouraged to avoid any strenuous activity for several weeks to allow full healing. If this is done by an open approach, the recovery is longer.
Recovery would depend on if it is a simple appendicitis or complicated appendicitis. It would also depend on how it is removed. Most appendix surgery is done using the laparoscope. In those cases of simple appendicitis removed using a laparoscope, most patients can go home in 24 hours and are back to normal in 7 - 10 days.
