That depends on a lot of things. Best to ask your friends team of doctors to get a better sense of how they are now, and what the anticipation that they will be like in the future. Good luck to you all.

Unfortunately stroke recovery can take time. In the order of months to even up to 1.5 years. Most recovery typically occurs within the first few months then it becomes very gradual. Any remaining symptoms after a year and a half or 2 years out, is most likely to be permanent at that point, and that is when we council our patients and families to learn to adjust/adapt to those remaining symptoms.
