Every Lasik surgeon/ophthalmologist will provide their patients with exact and detailed information as to what you should and should not due after your eye surgery. You should follow their guidelines specifically.

Under many circumstances, and for at least 1-2 weeks, you must avoid swimming, using jacuzzis or hot tubs, stay out of the garden, and avoid dirt or dust in the air. Heavy lifting should be avoided and what you do for exercise
should be discussed with your eye surgeon. Sunglasses and protective eye wear should be used for at least 1 year. You should not rub your eyes and protective eye wear may be provided to be used while sleeping for a period of time determined by your eye doctor. Any eye drops that your eye doctor will want you to use will be provided or prescribed by the eye doctor.

Most people can return to work from 3 days to 1 week after surgery. All follow-up appointments must be adhered to, without question. Any unusual eye problems that are encountered must be directed by and taken care of by your eye doctor. Most eyes will have fully healed by 3 months, but everyone is different.

Good luck and best wishes.

Most people take a day or two. Of course, if there are complications, it could take longer
