There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration to help determine if you are a good candidate. It is best to confirm with your doctor if you are a eligible for laser eye surgery.
Typically, patients are 25-40 years old
Anytime at this age. A full LASIK exam by the surgeon should be done to insure that your son is a good candidate for LASIK
Typically 21 is a good age but it is more dependent on the overall stability of his refractions and any other eye conditions
The general break point is age 23 when few if any changes in the prescription can be expected.  The surgeons doing this feel best when what correction they develop can be stable for a lengthy time.
If your son has stable vision, he would be of suitable age for consideration for Lasik. It would be recommended that he see a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in refractive surgery.
Age 21 is fine if refraction is stable for at least one year and all testing is normal. Someone who has lasik at 21 can enjoy 20+ years of glasses-free vision until reading glasses are needed about age 40-45.

When the prescription is stable. It is different for everyone. Some women stabilize at 18 some men at 24. Some outside the curve can continue to change until 30. If the prescription is stable over the last two years, it is probably fine to be evaluated.

LASIK surgery can be done at 21 years of age, as long as his glasses prescription has been stable.
From 18 years to to 35 years are best
