How often do dentures need to be relined?

I am a 56 year old male. I want to know how often do dentures need to be relined?

Generally speaking when you feel that the denture is not fitting snug or that it moves slightly, it is a good time to reline your denture. Once every 3 to 5 years is a good rule of thumb.
It is recommended to reline your dentures once a year because patients actually lose more alveolar bone from wearing dentures than not....
Usually once every two years, sometimes once a year. If the denture opposes natural teeth, the side with the denture will undergo tissue and bony changes requiring a reline due to the force of the bite.

If you gain or lose a dramatic amount of weight, (more than 15 lbs.) they should be checked for a reline. They should also be evaluated annually during your routine dental exam to make sure they still fit and function properly.
Once they start to feel loose and don't stay in their place properly, this is the time to have them relined. You should consult with your dentist, because sometimes tightening the clasps can make them a bit tight.
