How painful is a root canal?

I will have a root canal procedure. How painful is a root canal?

Not at all
Under local anesthesia, it is not painful at all. Post operative you can take ES Tylenol or Aleve.
Infected teeth are harder to numb. It helps if you start taking an antibiotic a couple of days before your root canal so that the tooth is easier to numb. You can also take ibuprofen 1 hour before your appointment, but make sure to take ibuprofen with food since it can tear the lining of your stomach.
Sometimes it can be uncomfortable, especially if the tooth is infected. But its to save the tooth instad of pulling it. Dr. Totonchi
It's not painful at all provided you are numb enough.
