“How soon can you walk after scoliosis surgery?”
I will have scoliosis surgery. How soon can you walk after scoliosis surgery?

Typically, the same or the next day starting slowly of course, and building up time and distance gradually. Good luck with your surgery.
Thank you for sharing your scoliosis question with the FATD community. I am happy to share my thoughts, tips and suggestions regarding this issue.
Scoliosis surgery is a helpful surgery to correct a twisted and curved spine. The surgery is usually quite successful. The implants use are strong and once they have been appropriately inserted, can easily support the forces of the body. Therefore, once the pain from the surgery lessens (everyone feels pain differently and tolerates it differently), and you can tolerate moving around, you can begin to walk again. At times this process begins by using a Walker and then crutches or a cane for support. Taking pain medicine for the first 2-3 days can help relieve your pain.
I hope this helps. Good luck on the surgery.
