I have throat damage?

Hello. I was coming out of the bathroom last night and it was very dark because my boyfriend was asleep. I stepped on a piece of paper and it got stuck to my foot so I knelt down to get it off, but because I couldn't see, I accidentally hit my throat on the back of my desk chair. Nothing happened for an hour or so, but now (about 3 hours since) my throat is very sore on the left side and is tender to the touch. I don't know what to do. I am not on any medication but am planning to take some ibuprofen to try and alleviate some of the pain.

You may have bruised the soft tissues of your neck. Taking tylenol or ibuprofen to alleviate the pain is a good idea. The symptoms should resolve on their own within 48-72 hours.
Throat contusion can be the cause, yes. Tylenol or Ibuprofen, ice, and rest. Important to watch for rapid swelling, voice changes, or difficulty breathing.

You should be fine. Taking 2 or 3 ibuprofen to alleviate the pain should help. Watch how you feel when you swallow or breath. If there’s any pain involved in doing either of these things, then you should seek medical attention.
If you can breathe and speak well, there’s no concern. The NSAID is a good idea
