“How can I prevent a mold allergy in my son?”
During winters my son often ends up with a mold allergy. Although I keep my home free from mold, he catches it from school and playing. How can I prevent this allergy for him?

There is no way to prevent the allergy. You can limit the exposure to mold like you have already started. You can treat mold allergy with antihistamines and nasal steroids. Allergy shots may also be a choice but you would need to see an allergy specialist *Robert Zuckerman MD PC FACAAI*
Dear concerned mom,
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to prevent allergic sensitization to any inhalant - dust, pet dander, molds. The best you can do for your son is to have him evaluated by an allergist to determine if allergic sensitization is present and if his symptoms can be related to that. Appropriate response in terms of medications and potentially allergen immunotherapy can be addressed as well.
I hope that helps.
