Thrush usually harbors on the tongue. It could be rawness. But someone should check that out to be sure. Covid and paxlovid create an inflammatory response that is most likely the culprits.
Hello there, If you feel like you have oral thrush. You will need to go to the dermatologist in your area for treatment. If you are in the Houston and need care, I would be happy to help! The current home remedy you are doing is not going to help. I would see a professional for their opinion. Hope this helps!
Hello! You should follow up with your PCP for further evaluation testing & treatment.
You can try yogurt! If not better see your doctor near by or urgent care for examination and further testing!
Over the counter med that can help...anything with nystain. This sounds odd but there is a nystain vaginal suppository that you can get and use similar to a throat lozenge. Otherwise, prebiotic and a trip to clinic for a prescription.
It's possible for certain medications, including antibiotics, to disrupt the balance of bacteria in the mouth and potentially lead to oral thrush. Paxlovid is an antiviral, but there are reports of candidiasis in patients with COVID-19. Oral thrush is a fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of Candida yeast in the mouth.

If you suspect you have oral thrush, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. They may prescribe antifungal medications, such as oral rinses or lozenges, to help treat the infection.

In addition to any prescribed treatment, maintaining good oral hygiene practices can be helpful. Using a gentle mouthwash like Colgate Peroxyl may provide some relief, as it can help reduce inflammation and promote healing. However, it's important to note that over-the-counter mouthwashes may not be sufficient to treat an active oral thrush infection.

To support healing and prevent further irritation, you can also try the following:

Continue to practice good oral hygiene: Brush your teeth twice a day and floss regularly. This can help remove any plaque or debris that may contribute to the infection.

Avoid irritants: Try to avoid irritants such as spicy or acidic foods that may further aggravate the raw areas in your mouth.

Maintain moisture: Drink plenty of water and keep your mouth moist to help alleviate discomfort.

Again, it's crucial to consult with a healthcare professional to confirm the diagnosis and receive appropriate treatment for your specific situation. They can provide personalized advice and guide you through the healing process.
Hello there, I would recommend going to your primary physician to take a look, but also would like it if you avoided dairy products, high sugar content foods and spicy foods. The treatment for thrush would consist of an oral antifungal medication, such as fluconazole or nystatin. Hope this helps, Andrea Rivas, PA-C
