Ibuprofen, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and IBS-C. Help asap, please!

I'm kind of new to both these problems, so just a word of warning, these questions may seem dumb. I have recently been diagnosed with IBS-C. I'm taking peppermint oil capsules twice daily to treat it, and Dulcolax if really needed (usually not more than once a month). Last month, I also got to experience what IBS symptoms and period cramps feel like at the same time. UTTER. HELL. I usually take Advil Ibuprofen Liqui-gels (200 mg) to manage the cramps.

My GP (who doesn't seem to believe the IBS symptoms, hence the reason I want to avoid calling her) prescribed Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo to manage period pains, and as per the instructions, I just took the first pill today. The cramps are still pretty bad, though, and I'm really in a lot of pain. Based on symptoms, I also think my IBS is flaring up. It did that last time too, but I don't know why.

I want to know if it's safe -and effective- to be taking all these medications in one day, with these conditions. If I take Advil, is that going to interact with Ortho Tri-Cyclen, or cause my IBS to get worse? Do either of the aforementioned drugs interact with peppermint oil or Dulcolax? And of course, how long do I have to wait before the Ortho Tri-Cyclen stops this pain on its own?!

I know there's a lot of drugs mentioned on this list, I promise I'm not some pill-popper, I just want to get through my day! Please help!

(Side note: Yes, I know Ortho Tri-Cyclen is birth control. No, I am not sexually active nor plan to be.)

I don't see any problem or interactions with those medications. It's okay to use them when you need to. As a GI doctor, I would not be able to answer your question about the Ortho TriCyclen and when the period pain will get better.
