Is anesthesia given during normal delivery?

I am a 29 year old female. I want to know if anesthesia is given during normal delivery?

Many patients in the United States get epidural analgesia for labor pain. Intravenous analgesia, inhalation analgesia (usually nitrous oxide), and even spinal analgesia (usually narcotics) are also commonly used. It is your choice and your decision, and you may change your mind once the contractions begin
You could have “natural“ delivery where you get no anesthesia, but need to get coached to deal with a natural delivery. Or, you could have a delivery with epidural anesthesia. You are not asleep for either of these.
Depends on your pain levels. It you need an epidural for your delivery, then you receive local anesthetic and some opioids which do no harm to your baby as they are going through an epidural
