All surgery involves some pain or discomfort. However, in general, as operations go, eyelid blepharoplasty tends not to be particularly painful. Most of our patients with surgery do not require much pain medication, and after a few days are just taking an occasional Tylenol if anything. However, individual experience with pain varies and some pain medication is prescribed to help patients as needed during the early recovery phase.
