Yes it is very common to have more pain or soreness after an adjustment especially at first. Use ice 20 min on and 1 hour off the first few days will help get rid of inflammation. Keep going!!! Your body is adjusting to be in the proper alignment and cleaning house sort to speak.
Sometimes there can be some discomfort and even pain associated with manipulation/adjustments. Much of it has to do with what condition the patient has and how long they have had it.
Yes and no. If its the first couple of adjustments then there will be soreness. Similarly, if you haven’t been to a gym in twelve years, then it won’t matter what or how little you do- you’ll still have soreness pain. Then there’s the pain after every adjustment, typically this is due to a reflex that your brain contracts the muscles to fight the movement. If that happens the muscles will lose because of leverage and therefore get strained. This will cause some minor inflamation, and inflammation causes activation of pain fibers. Therefore its experienced as pain. You should talk to your doctor about your experience and see if there may be another way to get a better result.
I wouldn’t use the word normal but most definitely not abnormal to feel discomfort while the change takes place. Soft tissue can at times get aggravated in process of putting misaligned joints into place. Hope I helped. Got your back!
It is normal to feel some pain, similar to a good workout. This will usually be happy after the first few visits. If the pain does not go away after the first two to three days, I would follow up with your chiropractor.
Yes, you can feel sore after an adjustment. When you start getting your spine realigned your muscles and ligaments adapt just a structural change. This is similar to when you begin an exercise program your body is not used to.
Hello, Is it normal, no. Is it common, yes! Communicate this to your doctor so they may assist you with symptom relief and further explain the why.
