Is it normal to see spots after cataract surgery?

I see spots after cataract surgery. Is it normal? Should I see a doctor?

Seeing spots could be due to more than one cause. Floating or moving black to opaque spots, " floaters" can become more visible after cataract surgery because the cloudy cataract has been removed and is no longer blurring or decreasing the amount of light entering the eye and visual axis. The floaters are areas of the vitreous that have separated from the retina and are now visible when in normal to bright lighting. Floaters are usually not associated with sight threatening problems and are mostly a nuisance.
It is common to see floaters after cataract surgery. Tell your eye doctor during your post operative visits though.
