“Is it okay to have breathing problems after pneumonia?”
I recovered from pneumonia 2 days ago. I have had breathing problems since then. Is it okay to have breathing problems after pneumonia?

It may take some time for your lungs to heal fully so if your breathing has not returned back to normal within 2 days of treatment that is quite normal. Take it easy, stay hydrated, make sure you do deep breathing exercises and follow any other recommendations from your doctors
It is not OK, but it is common to have some SOB, cough, phlegm, fatigue, sometimes wheezing after a pneumonia. There has been an infection in the lung and damage has occurred. Like any damage, it takes time to heal, even with appropriate and successful treatment. Any changes on an x-ray may be seen for up to 6 weeks following successful treatment which matches typical soft tissue healing times. There should be gradual improvement of symptoms over time after treatment so worsening symptoms would be a concern.
