Like any damage, it takes time to heal, even with appropriate and successful treatment. Any changes on an x-ray may be seen for up to 6 weeks following successful treatment which matches typical soft tissue healing times. There should be gradual improvement of symptoms over time after treatment so worsening symptoms would be a concern.
