Is jaw surgery necessary for crossbite?

I am a 25 year old male. I want to know if jaw surgery is necessary for crossbite?

It depends on the degree of cross bite. If it is slightly and can be corrected with brace, dental cross bite, then the orthodontist can manipulate without surgery. Here, I mean a specialist orthodontist, not a general dentist who does orthodontic treatment. If it is severe crossbite, skeletal crossbite, then you will need jaw surgery to correct it. It is important to have a correct and functional bite to prevent damaging your jaw joints on the long run. Best is to have a consultation with an orthodontist and oral maxillofacial surgeon for a throughly exam and evaluation.
Not always.

Not in all instances. Every patient is different and it depends on your individual situation.
