Is local anesthesia selected for colon biopsy?

I will have a colon biopsy. Is local anesthesia selected for colon biopsy?

General anesthesia is preferred. You will be more comfortable and very safe. Also general anesthesia allows the endoscopist to get a better biopsy.
No, General anesthesia is better so you don't feel discomfort during the procedure. Please, check with your gastroenterologist.
Conscious sedation.
I don't know how the biopsy will be done in your case, but most are done during a colonoscopy, in which case IV sedation is typically used.
