I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Is radiation treatment done for thyroid cancer?

Depends.I usually recommend Radio Active Iodine I 131 RX for ablation of residual thyroid tissue.If cancer extended beyond the thyroid gland larger doses of I 131 oral route given after proper preparation and isolation precautions.No external radiation is recommended at the initial stages
It depends on the type and stage of thyroid cancer.
