Is rose water safe for the eyes?

I have read in a number of beauty magazines that washing your eyes with rose water helps with keeping them healthy and fresh. However, the rose water I buy is usually packaged. Is it still safe to use?

not real sure, honestly
If you want to put rose water in your eyes to treat a condition, talk to your doctor first. Contact your doctor if your eyes start to hurt or seem irritated after you use rose water or other rose products.
I do not recommend. Use only non-preserved artificial tears to refresh the eyes.
Interesting question. Rose water is known for its medicinal properties; however, i would not recommend instilling it directly in your eyes. Your natural tear film already contains enzymes to clear up your eyes constantly. If you experience any dryness or irritation in your eyes, I would recommend using artificial tears instead. Some of my favorites are Refresh and Systane Ultra. These drops may be bought over the counter at drug stores. For a soothing effect, you can always place the drops in the refrigerator and use them while they are cooler. Yes, some beauty experts do recommend mixing rose water with milk and applying it with a cotton ball under your eyes to lighten dark spots on the skin, but instilling directly into your eyes is not recommend.
Hope this was of help.
Rose water is a mixture of many still unidentified ingredients and is manufactured mostly for use on the skin. The eye conjunctiva is more “fragile” than skin. Very little research has been done on the long term effects of rose water in the eyes. The immediate side effects may be burning sensation, redness or swelling because of the allergic reactions, and also infection if the solution is not sterile. It is always safer to use specific eye drops to maintain eye health or to treat specific eye conditions.
I would not recommend it. Putting anything in your eyes that is not made for the eyes puts you at risk of infection.
I understand that rose water is good for skin, hair and the area around the eyes but not for the eyes. It may be possible that some people may have an allergic reaction. I will recommend Boracua wash or saline solution.
Any product that doesn’t say on the label that is safe for use in the eyes and doesn’t say that it is intended for use in the eyes should not be used in the eyes. You only have 2 eyes and don’t put anything in them that may put them at risk.
