LASIK is not painful. You may experience some minor discomfort or itchiness due to the fact that LASIK uses laser technology to create a cut flap on the cornea and corneal nerves will also be cut. This can result in the temporary loss of reflexive tearing that your eye doctor will treat with eye drops after the surgery or the use of punctal plugs.
