Rheumatologist Questions Rheumatologist

Joint pain?

I have been having trouble with my knee, I haven't been able to bend it well or straighten it, and I'm constantly in pain. It has been like this for about a year now, also my ankle on the same side gets swollen every now and then. I've had an ultrasound of my knee so it's not a bakers cyst or fluid. The last few weeks, my arm on the same side has started hurting, I'm starting not to be able to straighten my elbow, and my wrist is weak I can't hold anything in that hand. What could this be?

Your symptoms are so numerous, there is no way I could guess what the problem may be. You may one overall problem or several different individual problems goin on at once. However, I strongly suggest you see an orthopedic surgeon for an evaluation. Stick to the facts and try to leave emotions out when communicating to the doctor, because those things just cause confusion.
Hope it helps!!

You have many problems which you have outlined. You need to be evaluated by a musculoskeletal specialist such as an orthopedic surgeon, rheumatologist or physical medicine specialist. To evaluate your knee radiographs and perhaps an MRI would be better. The other areas that you complained about should be examined by a specialist with appropriate diagnostic studies ordered.
