Laparoscopic surgery scars?

I had a laparoscopic appendectomy in 2019 and now I may have endometriosis exploratory surgery. I was wondering if they would go over the already existing scars from the scopes from before or if i’ll have another scar somewhere else?

Some of this depends on whether the procedures were/will be minimally invasive or open (larger incision). Sometimes you can re-use old incisions depending on the prior surgery, but since these surgeries are for different reasons, they might need to make a different incision to make sure the surgery is successful and you are safe!
You can go through a precious scar depending on the location. That kind of scar should be very small.
They will usually try to go through previous scarring, but the approach for the pelvis may require additional ports and additional incisions. Dale Yingling DO Yingling Consultation LLC President and Managing Partner
