Lost voice?

My mother who is in her seventies went in for a colonoscopy and they gave her Propofol for the procedure. While she was under she was told she threw up violently. It's almost been a month and she still barely has a voice. They've checked her lungs for fluid and everything looks good. They gave her a covid test and she is not positive for covid. We are at a loss of what to do next.

Need to consult ENT who can look at Vocal cords and see if there is some swelling or else
Your mother needs to be seen by an ENT who will perform a flexible laryngoscopy in the clinic under a little topical anesthetic spray in the nose. this will look directly at the vocal chords and check for any abnormal movement, masses, or dysfunction.
Hi, I am so sorry to hear what happened. If she threw up violently that may have stressed her vocal cords and she may need more time to heal unless there is permanent damage. It may be beneficial to have her make an appointment with an ENT surgeon for further evaluation and a second opinion.
It's definitely time to have an ENT doctor look at her larynx ("voice box"). A variety of things could be present such as inflammation from the acid exposure hemorrhage into one of the vocal folds.
She needs to see a laryngologist (ENT) for evaluation and flexible endoscopy. Possibilities include vocal fold swelling, vocal fold polyp, vocal fold hemorrhage/hematoma, arytenoid dilation, vocal fold paralysis. Find an MD who specializes in voice issues.
