“My left eye has been constantly watering. What can I do about it?”
My left eye has been constantly watering since for the last 3 days. What can be causing this, and what can I do about it?

When tearing occurs on only one eye, it is usually either something irritating the eye like a foreign body, an infection, or an in-turned eyelash causing tearing, or it can be that the drain in that eye got blocked and the tears are overflowing what the eyelid can hold.
This should not be ignored. Please see an ophthalmologist ("MD") to get checked right away in case it is an infection or foreign body so it can be treated.

Watering has a number of causes. You need an exam by an ophthalmologist to determine what needs to be done.
If it itches it is allergy. Try Zaditor OTC which used to be prescription. If no itching then try moisturizer drop like otc Refresh. If these fail then you need ophthalmologic evaluation.
There are many possible causes of watery eyes. I would recommend seeing an eye professional.

There are several causes of constant tearing. Is your eye red? Any pain or foreign body sensation? Any other symptoms other than tearing? Tearing can be caused by a blocked tear duct, oil gland dysfunction, exposure to ocular irritants, allergic reaction to something, irritation of the naso-ciliary nerve, or lacrimal gland.

You should see an eye doctor to determine “why” it is tearing. Once the cause is identified, then it can be treated appropriately. Otherwise, you are treating it blindly (no pun intended).
The first thing you should do is have a complete eye exam to exclude a serious eye problem such as glaucoma. The other common causes could be dry eye, blocked tear duct, infection, eyelid problems (too numerous to list), etc. Get an eye exam by an ophthalmologist (not at the mall!).
You must be seen for possible foreign body, herpetic eye disease or other infectious causes. Trigeminal nerve stimulation-ie headaches on one side can cause Cluster headaches and symptoms like this-yet it’s a diagnosis of exclusion.
