Myasthenia gravis and high WBC?

I have been referred to a neurologist for suspected MG but due to covid in my area, the appointment has been postponed. Separately, my PCP has been watching my fluctuating high WBC (ranges from 15 to 19) over the past several months but has not yet determined a cause. If I do indeed have MG could it be causing the wonky WBC?

Thank you for your valuable time and insight.

MG does not usually affect the blood count.
Thank you for the question.

Myasthenia in itself would not cause the elevated WBCs. However, some treatments, like steroids can cause the elevated WBCs. If you are on steroids as part of your myasthenia treatment, that could be it, but I would have your PCP evaluate the elevated WBC as a separate issue.

Thank you.

It is possible, but not usual to have an elevated wbc. Your pcp can order more specific tests for myasthenia gravis like achrab and musk.
