Neurologist Questions

Neurological problem?

Hi. I have an insufferable illness. It’s brutal. I’ve actually scared people away because of my blood curling screaming. It’s equatable to the feeling of nails on a chalkboard but the worst case of it you’ve ever heard and it’s similar to physical touch and it’s incessant. It’ll stabilize, worsen, then stabilize, and repeat. It used to be unbearable. Well unbearable really isn’t the word because it’s worse than that. I saw a doctor but they said it couldn’t be an issue with nerves because of how I think it happened. But regardless I’ve literally screamed, blood curdling screams, over and over and over again it’s so awful and brutal. I’ve tried to commit suicide before it’s so awful and unbearable. I’ve been hospitalized for a suicide attempt. I’ve actually tried to kill myself by ramming my head into a sink impulsively I couldn’t handle it anymore.

This sounds like it could be Tourettes. There are more and more medications available to help control or reduce symptoms of Tourette's. I suggest you can see a psychiatrist who is familiar with Tourettes, or a neurologist specializing in movement disorders (which include tic disorder. Of course, I could not give a specific diagnosis or treatment without a direct consultation. This information is only an approximate guide to help you find some help. If this is Tourettes, it is not psychological, it is neurological (a brain problem). But many specialists who treat this are trained in psychiatry and are familiar with the neurology of the condition.
I would check you for Lyme disease, other tick-borne infections and mold genetics, inflammatory markers and exposure history. The Lyme test available at Quest and LabCorp is insufficient to make a diagnosis or rule out the disease.
