Obstetrician and Gynecologist Questions OB-GYN

No period?

I am 44 years old. I suddenly stopped having periods 9 months ago. I didn't have a period for 5 months. Then I had a period in Nov 2020. I have not had one since. I am not pregnant. My doctor ran every blood test possible I think. My hormones do not suggest perimenopause. Everything came back normal. No PCOS, BV, STDs, or anything else. The urine was fine. No infections. I have had extremely dark/almost black discharge a few times in the past 9 months. My doctor said after my pelvic exam (pap came back normal) that I have a lot of watery discharge which I do. I have to wear pads because of it. I had an ultrasound. Nothing that would suggest no period. A 3.9 cm ovarian cyst and endometrial thickness of 19.9mm are the only comments in the report. Suggests MRI with contrast. My doctor suggested an endometrial biopsy. I wasn't nervous at first but now I'm a wreck. I'm worried about uterus cancer. Does anything you've read suggest cancer? Or does it just sound like a precaution to rule it out?

By definition:
Menopause is absence of menstrual period for 12 months plus. There is no accurate blood test for peri menopause, but clinically, you are in a perimenopausal period.
Endometrial thickness is found in benign endometrial hyperplasia and in carcinoma. Suggest biopsy or hysteroscopy /D & C as soon as possible to allay anxiety and start treatment
