Numbness after fairly deep cut?

I cut my pinkie finger a week ago, it was fairly deep but required no stitches, and is the healing process is going fine. The cut is at the bottom of my finger closer to my knuckles however ever since I cut it I have been experiencing numbness specifically on the upper part of my pinkie on the outside portion and the top edges of my wound. I searched it up and found that numbness around the edges of the wound can last 1-3 weeks but I have found nothing surrounding other parts of your finger not around the edges being numb. Is this something to be worried about/should I consult with my doctor about this?

Persistent numbness after a deep cut can mean a nerve injury you should have it evaluated by a hand surgeon.
It should read GOOD exam, not hood exam. Please check out the American society for surgery of the hand website and find a surgeon with your zip code.

If you are feeling numbness towards the tip of the finger, then you may have cut the digital nerve. You should see a hand surgeon because if you cut the digital nerve, then you may require surgery. Best to consult a hand surgeon to be certain. Good luck.
