Urologist Questions UTI

Possible UTI?

I will start off with the first day. 13 days ago, me and my fiancé were waiting to be sat at a restaurant (standing for about 20 minutes). I started to get hot flashes and suddenly woke up to my fiancé crying, after a few seconds of regaining consciousness I realized I fainted. We went straight home after I drank some water and I felt weak the entire day. (Almost passed out again about an hour later but I sat down and drank water and seemed to be okay). I was experiencing other symptoms such as fatigue, hot flashes, chills (feeling really cold and trembling). I wrapped myself in a blanket the rest of the day.
The next day I still had these symptoms and felt fatigued so I decided to get checked at an urgent care. They did a physical, ekg, vital test (check vitals sitting, standing, laying down), and a urine test. Everything was fine except a small amount of blood in my urine (Microscopic hematuria (R31.29)) and was negative for a UTI (Culture). The DR said it’s nothing to worry about and said I probably have a respiratory infection.
The entire week I felt fatigued, nauseous, chills with my temperature feeling off (I had no actual fever), blurred vision, lightheadedness, frequent urination, a weird symptom where I would feel warmth through my body and would feel week after, (I have some health anxiety that I feel made everything worse). I would also wake up drenched in sweat. I did an online visit and they prescribed me amoxicillin in case I did have a UTI. The chills stopped about 2 days after but I still had blurred vision and all of the other symptoms.

I got checked again at the ER the following weekend and they did chest x-rays, CBC, glucose test, another ekg. Everything was fine and said I probably have an upper respiratory infection as well. Another week goes by and I still have all theses symptoms plus lower back pain that seems new. I am really hoping I can feel better since I do not have health insurance and all of these tests cost me $3,000 out of pocket. I do just generally feel Ill, and the blurred vision doesn’t seem to go away.

Active symptoms:
Blurred Vision
Random warmth feeling (only about every 3 days)
Lightheaded
Frequent urination

I have actively been checking blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rate, and using the Apple Watch for when I am sleeping to monitor heart rate, everything seems normal.

No medications other than amoxicillin

Complaint duration: 14 days

Sounds like either a viral or bacterial infection. You need a spinal tap and a sed rate and CBC. They need to find the source of the infection. Typically, sputum.culture, urine culture and blood cultures. The spinal tap may be needed because you are describing meningitis with your symptoms. Have you been around anyone with meningitis or have you been out of the country recently?
