Possible aspiration of vomit?

I was lying on my back just a few minutes ago, and I burped up some vomit, a tiny amount, maybe a bit more than a tablespoon, at the exact time I inhaled. I immediately started coughing but nothing came up. I still occasionally cough, it feels as if something is stuck in my throat even though there is nothing there, and I am producing a lot more saliva than usual (don't know if that's related or not). I have a history of asthma and I know Aspiration Pneumonia can be extremely serious. Should I go to the hospital just to be safe?

It’s hard to detect any pulmonary changes that quickly. I would watch it over 12-24 hours, if it’s worsening, then yes go to ER
Hello,

I advise going to either a hospital ER or Urgent Care to have an examination and chest X-ray.

Doesn't sound like you need to go to the hospital. With pneumonia you would probably develop fever and chronic cough.
