Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Questions Tongue health

Post Tongue biopsy

A week ago I had a biopsy on my tongue. The pain is gone and the stitches dissolved but the biopsy site looks slightly swollen and is slightly pale compared to the rest of my tongue. Is this normal?

Avoid pulling on tongue or lips if these sites were biopsied or touching the biopsy site with your fingers as this may open the wound and cause an infection. Brush your teeth normally but avoid rinsing for 24 hours to allow the site to form a clot. After 24 hours, begin rinsing 3 times a day with warm salt water.
Every case is obviously different. You should check with your surgeon who did your biopsy and try to get it for a follow up to make sure you're ok
