It sounds like you had an unexpected experience during your chiropractor appointment. It's important for chiropractors to communicate clearly with their patients about the techniques they will use and why they are necessary.

Usually, a pubic bone adjustment is done with the patient on their back with their knees bent. The doctor places their hands (crossed) at the inner portion of your knees while you squeeze inward with your knees.

The pubic bone is a sensitive area, and some chiropractic techniques can involve working on the pelvic region to help with alignment and alleviate pain. However, it’s essential that patients feel comfortable and informed throughout the treatment process.

It’s crucial to feel safe and respected during any treatment. If you're ever uncomfortable with a specific technique, don’t hesitate to speak up and ask for alternatives. Your comfort and well-being should always come first!
Any time an adjustment is in a sensitive region or location, there should be a conversation about the purpose. What is being done lastly with the patient's understanding and permission. This is not an uncommon treatment especially for pubic bone misalignment, however, due to the obvious location for one, plus it can be a very tender region to work on. More reason to have an explanation prior to the treatment
Hi some adjustment techniques do contact on different parts of the pelvis. I agree the doctor should have explained what he was going to do and why he needed to contact that area. He then should have asked if you were OK with that type of adjustment.
It appears you were put off by a pubic adjustment with an Activator. This is a legitimate correction. I was taught both this and a hand adjustment while in school. The doctor apparently did not sufficiently explain his intent in advance, These corrections can help resolve pelvic or lumbopelvic pain syndromes when indicated.
I’m sorry he didn’t explain beforehand. It would have better prepared you for the adjustment. Pubic bone pain is one of the worst. I hope you are feeling better.
The Doctor should have thoroughly explained what the treatment would be and why. Consent for that treatment should have been granted by you before the treatment was performed.
