Cardiologist Questions

Question for Cardiologist

My Kaiser doc OK’d me for Gastric Bypass. It’s 2 years out. I researched other options & found Medical Tourism. The place I’m looking into wants a Cardiac clearance due to an episode of ventricular tachycardia 12 years ago. I last saw my cardiologist 6 years ago & he has since retired. My Kaiser doc suggested I seek an assessment outside of the Kaiser system as he doubts any of the cardiologists there will support surgery with a non-Kaiser surgeon. Is this do-able? Will another Cardiologist look at my file and make an assessment? Would they have enough information to say something like “She may proceed with surgery with the following recommendations…”? My file contains recent lab work. I have diabetes (controlled by intake - not insulin) and high blood pressure. Basically all the things that co along with being obese.

Cardiologist
Any cardiologist should be able to do that for you yes and should be able to get records if needed.
Tough to say. I’d recommend getting all of your records pertaining to your ventricular tachycardia, notes from your previous cardiologist, any imaging (echo, ekg, stress test, cardiac cath) and if any other hospitalizations and bring with you to a consult so they have enough information to make a decision
You should see a Kaiser cardiologist.
