Rash or STD?

I had recently had a small circle appear on the base of my scrotum, which was noticed primarily by the itching. I am hoping it's a rash from taking a few days off showering last week, but hoping to have a second opinion as it could be related to an STD too (has been a few months since I've been sexually active, but a couple of years since I've last been tested - will be scheduling soon regardless)

I have shared a picture, which is again near the base of my scrotum. The red circle is in a spot I can't see without a camera (again - was only checking as it was itching).

Most likely fungus , get Lamasil cream over the counter
Hi and many thanks for the photo and history of the rash. Without viewing in person it is difficult to pinpoint an exact cause and even then a culture or superficial biopsy might be required. It could be something minor such as a fungal infection, eczema, or a harmless condition called granuloma annulare. Best to get checked by a local dermatologist.
