Rate of transmission of HSV2 to an uninfected female partner when taking 1G of Valacyclovir daily?

Hi there

I have been diagnosed with HSV2 about 3 months ago. I am a male. My female partner is not infected.

My partner and I are trying to have a child and would like to engage in unprotected sex. I have been taking Valacyclovir (1g) once daily as suppressive therapy to diminish the risk of transmission.

While on this suppressive therapy, what is the percentage or rate of transmission/likelihood of transmission of HSV2 to an uninfected partner while having unprotected sex, when there are no clinical signs of the virus (lesions, or pro drone) present?

Male | 29 years old
Complaint duration: 3 months
Medications: Valacyclovir 1g once daily
Conditions: HSV2 only

The Valacyclovir 1gm daily and the lack of prodrome and lack of lesions should be the best set of conditions that you can have to ensure lack of transmission of both HSV1 and HSV2; you are good to try for pregnancy.
While it decreases risk of transmission greatly, I really can’t quantify the risk of transmission. You can lessen by using a condom with holes poked in the tip- for less skin contact but still allowing for pregnancy.
