With a proper hearing evaluation and hearing aids. There is no cure for hearing loss. These are usually permanent losses.
If this is a sudden hearing loss that occurred within the last 7 days it is imperative that you see an Otolaryngologist immediately, if addressed quickly you may be able to recover your hearing.
If you are experiencing hearing loss following an illness we recommend having a full hearing evaluation and medical follow-up by an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) physician.
If your friend's hearing loss has occurred very recently, she should see an Ear, Nose and Throat physician as soon as possible. Rapid treatment with steroids can sometimes restore function from a sudden hearing loss. A full hearing evaluation is needed. If no improvement is gained from steroid treatment, hearing aids or a cochlear implant are recommended.
