Yes!While there are some benign treatable causes of HEMOPTYSIS (coughing up blood) it may be a sign of lung cancer. You will need chest xray and if there are any abnormalities you will get a CT chest. The ER doc may Rx antibiotics, tell you to not take aspirin/NSAIDS and refer you to a pulmonologist
