Should a 15 year old be allowed to have medical cannabis? (Canadian)

I am a 15 year old with depression, anxiety, and insomnia and I am on fluoxetine for right now, but (even before going on meds) I can't help but want something natural, created by the earth. I guess I am what they call a "hippie" and like natural stuff when it's not something life threatening. I saw a video of a 7 year old get treated with cannabis because she had cancer, and the tumor shrunk! I was astounded, I knew some of the benefits of medical cannabis before for aches and pains but something as big as cancer! That was a shock and made my whole head spin. I started researching medical cannabis for all the stuff I have and I've seen it's worked amazingly. Basically everyone in my family has (or is) smoking medical cannabis so I went to my mom about the topic of me getting off my meds and going onto the topic today. She is weary for good reason, there is almost no research on cannabis and kids, but I can't help but feel like it will help me. So do you think a 15 year old be allowed to have medical cannabis?

I am just not sure cannabis should be your sole focus. What other simple and foundational measures for self care and health are being overlooked by focusing on these higher interventions? Ex. vitamin deficiencies, hormone imbalance, eating non-foods that are unfortuantely sold as foods in the grocery stores, too much screen time, not enough boundaries with social media, unprocessed grief and stress, situational symptoms of anxiety & depression (like a pandemic). I am not saying cannabis would not help, but it is being treated just the same as your Rx med, whereas the other approaches would address more of your whole being. Can you find a trained professional you would be willing to work with, that you trust and feel respected by? Do not try to medicate on your own.
Hello

I would not recommend it as I feel you are too young. also, it is approved for pain that is non-responsive to other medications. I feel with you taking anti depressants and going to counseling, you should feel better. All the best to you.
I'm not a big fan of cannabis and honestly never prescribed it to my patients. I do believe that we have a lot of natural and/or pharmaceutical remedies for anxiety, insomnia, depression, etc that work better than cannabis.
