Only if there is an open wound in your mouth.
Please call your dental office and request a hygiene appointment. A professional dental hygienist will be glad to show you the dos and don't s of brushing and flossing. Please do not rely on the old wives' tales found on the internet. While the digital age makes finding a huge amount of information quickly available, a large percentage of that information is incorrect and misguided. The authors of this information can hide behind computers without fear of lawsuits for their misdiagnosis and bad treatment advice, unlike actual dental professionals who put their name, professions, and livelihood on the line everyday for the sake of their patient's health and well being.
Most commercial toothpastes are ideal for brushing. Dissolved salt (i.e., salt water) should not be harmful, unless you have high blood pressure, kidney issues, or some other medical conditions. Fluoride has been proven to be safe at the recommended doses. Fluoride is excellent at minimizing decay.
No real benefit as to decay control. Nonabrasive, could raise your sodium level temporarily. Some commercial toothpastes might offer better benefits, but no real harm done using saltwater.

No.
I personally do not see any advantage in brushing your teeth with salt water.
Thanks.
Do not brush your teeth with salt water-it is abrasive and has no benefit. You want to use a fluoridated toothpaste
