“Should you go to the ER for pancreatitis?”
I am a 56 year old male. I want to know if I should go to the ER for pancreatitis?

Yes.
Acute pancreatitis usually causes pain severe enough to result in an ER visit and hospitalization. Not a good idea to ignore pancreatitis since the complications can be devastating.
If you're asking that question is say yes. Basically pancreatitis is one of those things that can go from bad to dangerous real quick. Chronic pancreatitis is terrible and doesn't require constant ER visits it's mostly chronic pain unfortunately, but acute on chronic or especially acute pancreatitis, can be life threatening, frankly. If you especially cannot hold down fluids, without question you need to go to the hospital.
