Should you wet your toothbrush before brushing dentures?

I am a 72 year old male. I want to know if you should wet your toothbrush before brushing dentures?

Yes, to soften up the bristles and apply denture toothpaste on it.
Thank you for your question!

There's nothing wrong with wetting the brush first. But a little water may help get rid of the plaque that has accumulated. Just make sure not to use regular toothpaste. It has abrasive particles to clean the stains off real teeth, and those particles are too abrasive for acrylic dentures. It's also a good idea to brush over a sink filled with water or a towel, just in case you drop the dentures. That way, you can prevent damage.

It doesn't matter wet or dry, just use a soft brush and no toothpaste as toothpaste has abrasives that can affect the denture.

Yes, wet both denture and brush and clean thoroughly nightly.
How wet is the denture when you brush it? Is the cleaner that you place on the brush creamy, not powdery? It may not be necessary, or wouldn't hurt.
That is a personal preference. What you should be more concerned with is using the proper product to clean your denture. Dentu-Cream is recommended over regular toothpaste (Amazon, Walmart, Ebay). It is not as abrasive and is kinder to the denture.
You actually can brush your dentures using a special denture cleaning brush and denture cleaning paste. Wetting brush is optional using the special paste for dentures. Regular toothpaste too abrasive for deep cleaning dentures.
There is no requirement to wet the toothbrush, but generally the toothpaste will spread more easily and be less sticky.
