“Spotting and bleeding?”
I have spotting for three days before my expected period then heavy blood with stringy mucus. Then now later in the day, I have spotting, I'm not sure if it's my period or something else. I'm extremely bloated.

Seems like a period, if it is happening at the time of your expected period. Spotting before and after is normal. The concern is heavy bleeding, you need to see your OBGyn to get more help.

Unfortunately, you have not given me enough data to answer your question properly. Is the “before my expected period” around the time of your previous menses? Is there a chance you are pregnant? Have your periods been regular? Is this the first time you have had the above described menses?
