Abdominal Surgeon Questions Gastroenterologist

Stomach problems?

I was getting pain in my lower right abdomen for 5 years now and have been to the ER around 19 times. I had cat scans, blood work, urine and fecal tests, and an all-around physical. I'm on my 3rd GI doctor. I'm scheduled for a colonostapy in March. The doctor showed me my medical records last week and never knew I had a bleeding user and Pyro. They found this last year when I was hospitalized from heart failure. I know now the bleeding ulcer hurts but not as bad as my pain.

Every morning when I empty my bowels, 15 min later I'm rolling on the ground in tears and it last up to an hour to 10 hours I thought you might have a idea what it could be. But why didn't they tell me I had a bleeding ulcer when they found it last year. This hospital was when I first went in for heart failure and then got out in a week. I spent 4 days home I was rushed there again for a GI bleed with 3 holes in my lower intestine and they said they don't know what caused it. I blame it on the 12 steroids they were giving me I'm 129 pounds.

I have been researching for 5 years now and am still clueless.

I am so sorry to hear of your problems. Don’t give up keep looking for the answers. You should always try to find SOMETHING to be thankful for every day.
You will be in my prayers…
I'm afraid I cannot quite make sense of the history you provided. You describe right lower abdominal pain and also pain after emptying your bowels, but I don't know if you meant these are the same or different pains. I also don't know what you mean by "holes in my lower intestine." This could be diverticulosis, ulcers, or something else. If you had an ulcer in the past, this doesn't mean that it is still present and causing pain now. It would take quite a bit of questioning and gathering information on your symptoms to figure out what might be going on. There seems to be more than one problem causing you symptoms. Hopefully, your current GI doctor can make the right diagnoses and get you feeling better. Make sure the doctor communicates clearly what he/she thinks is going on and what the plan is to help your pains.

You may have an appendicular colic causing your pain. Sometimes a hard ball of stool stuck in the appendix can cause right lower quadrant pain. No test will diagnose it. Only solution is laparoscopy and laparoscopic appendectomy and then pain may go away.

You need to see a good doctor. I am a cardiologist not a gastroenterologist. Go to your nearest university based medical school and call the department of medicine and ask them for the best gastroenterologist they have on staff.
