Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) Questions Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT)

Throat problems?

Dear doctor, for so many years I have experienced a sore throat. This happened, after the first gastroscopy. Over time, I have been assessed by several ENT specialists. The vocal cords are fine. One of the lymph nodes in the neck is slightly bigger, and inflamed than others and they don't know why. I had my surgery for the nasal septum. I can breathe better now. But still, have breathing problems with the nose. Also, I have some tonsil stones at times. I drink milk and this helps to get rid of some of the stones. I feel like an obstruction at the larynx level. I had a few waves of panic especially when I was resting in bed. It felt like I could not breathe. I believe the muscles in the neck for whatever reason didn't function. I can talk for a few minutes then I start feeling pain in my larynx or throat. Please help me understand what is happening with my throat as the scans did only show two little nodules in my thyroid.

Dear patient,

I am sorry for your throat problems, it seems to me that you have had multiple ENT exams considered negative. I would see your physician and get a referral to throat or swallowing physical therapy consult. I think that would help your situation.

Respectfully yours,
