Timescale for endoscopy biopsy results?

I had a throat endoscopy test done where six biopsies were taken. I was told I would be written to with results this was almost four weeks ago and to date have not received results can you roughly say how long they might take.

They can take up to two weeks. Depending on the pathologic finding and if there is some additional cell staining for final diagnosis. Most of the time the specimen is received and after preparing the tissue overnight the next day that tissue is stained to see the cells, then the pathologist looks in the microscope to determine if the cells are benign or malignant and if there are additional staining necessary for the diagnosis. Thank you.
This is too long. You need to contact the doctor's office for an update.
