It sounds like your nervous system might be overstimulated from the treatment. Sometimes electroacupuncture and massage back to back can be a lot, especially if your body is sensitive. Id let your practitioner know what youre feeling. Rest, stay hydrated, and avoid anything too stimulating for now. A gentler treatment next time could help calm things down.
after acupuncture, don't do a massage.
Thank you for your question. This is rather difficult to evaluate with such little information. For example, what was the original problem andor diagnosis for which you received acupuncture and massage? What does stimulation in head mean Richard Richard Mandell, Lic.Ac. Without knowing your health history and what the practitioners did, it would be irresponsible for me to try to diagnose your situation. I recommend a consultation with another practitioner.
I would need clarification of the symptoms you are feeling afterwards and sldo details on what treatment you had which points, which frequencytime and which stim unit was utilized, but I believe you should contact the acupuncturist who treated you who knows exactly what type of estim treatment you had. Perhaps the treatment needs an adjustment. Kathy Martin, MS.Ac. Beach Acupuncture.
Hello, What area was treated and was the treatment for? Was the massage given by the same person? You need to go back to the practitioners who treated you and discuss the effects that you are experiencing. They should be able to evaluate based on the treatment that they have done and help or refer you out to a specialist. Massage is often done after the acupuncture, but in the future I advise that you ask if you can do massage after, inform your massage therapist or better schedule the sessions a few days apart.
Sometimes, patients are sensitive to the treatment and in this case, it seems that it was too strong for your body. Please, communicate with your acupuncturist so he or she can provide a lighter treatment next time. The symptoms that you are experiencing should resolve quickly so make sure you stay hydrated and have enough meals during the day to maintain a constant sugar level. Alexandre Hillairet, DAOM. Hi there! These aren't things we normally see with electrical acupuncture, so I'd strongly recommend reaching out to your practitioner and asking them what they think. We can see some tingling on the skin after electrical stimulation, as well as a stimulating sensation, but internal night tremors is a different thing. I hope this helps!.
First of all I want to make sure I understand 1. This electrical acupuncture occurred 7 days ago? 2. Where did it occur? Part of body 3. You feel tremors internally on the right side of your body? 4. For what were you getting treated 5. For what did you receive electrical acupuncture. 6. How severe are the tremors? 7. Are they in one side of your body? 8. How long have you had the tremors? 9. Is it affecting any other daily activities or motor skills? Please call or respond immediately. If we dont connect soon and youre concerned then just go to ER If you have a bit of patience and can respond first and let me analyze the situation I may be able to save you from that situation please go.

Go and see a neurologist
To rule out seizures
It will be best to contact the treating clinician for further discussion. Good luck.
you should contact the practitioner you got a treatment from. this is not a normal side effect of acupuncture
I have no idea! You need to call your acupuncturist!
I personally have not had that experience with any of my patients, I would recommend reaching out to your acupuncturist with your concerns.
I can not say for sure what is happening. I don't know what you mean by "stimulation in head." I personally only use electrical acupuncture in certain scenarios (paralysis/numbness), but that's just my personal preference. Was your practitioner a fully trained acupuncturist? What did your practitioner say?

In this case, it is best to speak with your acupuncturist as I do not know exactly what was done to you.
It seems you have some interior wind problems which is related to liver for TCM you. Try to talk with your current provider or look for a new one for help. For me acupuncture and herbs should or could help you out.
It would be a good idea to let that acupuncturist know what has happened so that they are aware and can give you feedback pertaining to the treatment.

Warmly,

Natalie Ramsey, MS LAc

Hard to say not knowing your case but often symptoms can worsen before they get better.
At 28 years old, you seem too young to have this condition bothering you. I’m uncertain, but it sounds as if electric stimulated acupuncture was done.
It is very unusually, did they put needles on your scape ? even put in scape won't cause tremors, maybe doctor turn on electric too high or inserted needles in some wrong acupuncture points. That could be happen.
It's hard to say what might be happening without understanding what kind of provider gave you electrical acupuncture, why they thought it was appropriate, what points they stimulated, and what level of electricity was utilized.

My best guess is: electrical stimulation may not have been an appropriate treatment for your issue and/or the provider used too high a frequency during the treatment.

The first thing I'd do is contact the provider and let them know what you're experiencing. They may have some idea what's going on and what it might take to correct the problem.

If you received this treatment from a provider other than a board certified, state licensed acupuncturist (like a chiropractor, physical therapist or other licensed provider), then I'd try to locate an actual acupuncturist in your area and go for a consult. You can use NCCAOM.org to locate local, board certified, providers. The bottom line is: there is a world of difference between someone who trained in, got certified and licensed in, and practices only Chinese medicine and someone who is trying to bolt acupuncture/Chinese medicine on to some other framework or licensure with minimal to no extra training in Chinese medicine.
